We came across Square by chance while walking along the waterfront and were very pleasantly surprised. The ambience is lovely, relaxed yet refined, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was attentive and genuinely helpful, offering thoughtful menu recommendations that turned out to be spot on. The food was outstanding. We started with carpaccio, followed by main courses, and everything was beautifully prepared and presented. One dish that really stood out was the risotto, served with black orange an unexpected but delicious touch. The waiter took the time to explain the dishes and was engaging throughout our visit. The only small suggestion would be to offer menus in a few more languages. Overall, a very pleasant restaurant with high-quality food - if you’re in the area and looking for a place for lunch, definitely recommend it.
We stumbled into Square for lunch after other plans changed, and we are so glad we did! We returned the following evening for dinner after having such a great experience. Both meals were excellently prepared by Chef Nikola and his crew. All of the dishes we tried were incredible and this was absolutely our favorite restaurant so far in the region. Thank you Militza, Uros, Nikola, and crew for two great meals and loads of wonderful memories.
We visited this lovely marina-side restaurant during the off season (April) and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The weather was beautiful, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast. everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent, making it a perfect start to our day. Highly recommend!

Great restaurant. Service was exceptionally good, the owner was very good and attentive. Location very good with marina and square on either side. Food delicious all round the opening bread basket was amazing, and the seared tuna exceptionally good. Enjoyed recommended local wine which was again very good. Would highly recommend, especially if you are staying the One & Only as food here is a cut above that in the hotel restaurants.
Food and service exceptional. I had grilled prawns followed by local seabass. Wine list extensive and pricey but same as all other restaurants. Chablis great. We were a large table of 10, and were really looked after by the owner who was maticulous with his service.

Very clean, beautiful furniture and an excellent wine selection SQUARE offers a whole new dining experience and is for me the best restaurant in Montenegro!
Great evening experience at the square. We were greeted by the lovely Milica who gave us a nice table by the marina and came back to make sure that everything was nice. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere very cheerful, with the DJ playing all the evening. We were served by Alexander, that was friendly and helpful. Great job guys. Food was just delicious ( I had the pumpkin soup and the sea bass) portions were fair and food was rich. We would come back for sure.
Wish we lived in Portonovi to come every day. The roti with roast beef and the crunchy eggs are both recommended The menu in general is not boring. Well-decorated dishes are a pleasure to the eyes, unlike in many places in Montenegro (if you know, you know ). You can feel elegance and thought. The only pinch of salt was the absence of plant milk. It was Sunday so there was no way to get a refill, I guess. I’d recommend having at least lactose free as it is long life milk anyway. We were surprised people pick Noa over it, Square fits our taste more.
We went to Square tonight and so far it’s our best meal we have had in Montenegro and is going to take some serious beating. Food was amazing and service was spot on. I really recommend this restaurant.
